People often complain that everytime they turn on the television or go on the internet, they hear bad news. We hear many stories of people doing aweful things
to others and sometimes it can feel overwhelmingly bad in the world. But, every now and then, you also hear stories of goodness and grace. And, these stories don't often get the press that the bad stories may get. But, they should. Because it is stories like these that give me hope.
On this page, we will post stories of goodness and grace. And, through these stories, we can be uplifted and gain some hope in our day. We hope you enjoy these stories as much as we have and please feel free to share your stories of hope with us.

The Big Oak Ranch: Changing Lives & Glorifying God Tuesday, February 23, 2010
"I did know why I was put on this earth and it was to just give children a chance." That is what John Croyle, former University of Alabama football
player said as he described his calling to start a ranch to help children. The Big Oak Ranch, founded and run by the Croyle family, helps children who need hope of a strong Christian
family to love them and raise them.
When new children come to the ranch, John says to them, "I love you. I will never lie to you. I will stick with you until your grown. And, there are boundaries, don't cross them." And, he does just as he promises and has shown Christ's love to hundreds of children since his ranch opened.
Learn more about this amazing family and the amazing ministry of the Croyle family by going to their webpage at www.bigoak.org and by watching the video below.
An Interview with Super Bowl MVP & New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees Monday, February 8, 2010
This year's Super Bowl was full of stories of strong Christians sharing their faith. Pam & Tim Tebow shared their story through their Focus on the Family commercial. Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell held coach's bible studies all week. And, New Orleans' quarterback Drew Brees shared his faith through interviews and commentaries. Here is a video of a Fellowship of Christian Athletes interview with Brees. In it, he shares his experience with adversity and how the worst event of his life turned into the best. Watch this interview and get ready to be blessed by his testimony.
Pam & Tim Tebow's Super Bowl Commercial Monday, February 8, 2010
In case you missed it, here is the Super Bowl commercial by Focus on the Family that attracted so much criticism before it aired. If you are interested in learning more about the Tebow's story, you can read their story on the Focus on the Family's website.
Hope in Haiti Monday, February 1, 2010
A friend of mine posted this video on Facebook and I was overwhelmed with emotion as I watched this 3 minute clip. I recommend that you take a moment and watch it as it shows how one can have hope in the midst of absolute disaster. In this video is the picture of pregnant woman reading her Bible in the middle of the greatest tragedy of her life. And, as she sits there devastated, she also praises God. May we always praise God, even during our darkest hours.
This video is very powerful. I recommend that you watch it today and pass it on to others to see as well.
Tim Tebow and His Super Bowl Commercial Sunday, January 31, 2010
I have been captivated this week by the attention that Tim Tebow’s superbowl commercial has received. It has received some criticism from NOW (the National Organization for Women), from Gloria Allred, and from some other pro-choice groups. But, it has also received a lot of support.
For those of you who are not familiar with the commercial, it is a commercial produced by Focus on the Family and supposedly talks about Pam Tebow’s decision to not abort her child, despite health issues when she was pregnant (and recommendations from doctors to abort). Pam Tebow is the mother of famous college football quarterback TimTebow. And, Tim and his mother appear in this pro-life advertisement about Pam’s decision to not abort Tim. If you are not familiar with the Tebow family or with her decision, you can read more about them here:
http://www.btea.org/aboutus.asp and
http://www.gofbw.com/news.asp?ID=8563. We also featured them in our daily devotion on Friday, January 29th.
As you can expect, Pam and this commercial have received a lot criticism this week. But, it has also received a lot of support. And, much of that support can be seen on Facebook. There is a “Support Tebow’s Super Bowl Ad” Facebook fan page that is gathering about 10,000 new fans per day. As I’m writing this, it has over 84,000 fans supporting this commercial.
I have been so impressed by the support that the Tebow family and this commercial have received. Additionally, given my experience with doctors recommending abortion of Isabella, I have been quite drawn to Pam’s testimony. Watching women stand up for what they believe is right and watching support for that grow by 10,000 people each day gives me hope.
