"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up."
~Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10

You Delight My Heart
September 22, 2009

"You delight my heart in a million different ways."

Lisa Whelchel shared this statement with us at the Women of Faith conference in Philadelphia. She shared it as she was describing a new friendship that she had formed. She talked about how she was looking for that one special friend who could be her confidant, her spiritual sister, and her best friend. Someone who she could feel safe enough with to let the walls around her heart down. And, she described how she prayed for such a friend and that one day, this woman was sitting in front of her at a conference and just introduced herself.

As they became good, if not best, friends, Lisa recalled asking her one day, "Why do you love me?" And, her friend responded simply, "Because you delight my heart in a million different ways."

What a powerful phrase. Do you have a friend who delights your heart in a million different ways? Do you want to have a friend who delights your heart in a million different ways? If you do not have such a friend, then pray that the Lord will send that person to you. And, accept it when He gives her to you.

If you do have a friend who delights your heart in a million different ways, then tell her today. Email her, Facebook her, call her, or text her these simple words: "You delight my heart in a million different ways."
