Battle is the Lord's
Do you remember when you first became a Christian? When I look back over my Christian life and see all the things that I have been through, I think to myself had I known what this journey would have been like I may have bailed out early.
What I have come to realize is that the Lord helps us to overcome each battle. We have different trials that come our way. Some may be big and some may be small. I believe that through these trials the Lord holds our hand or even carries us through and helps move us forward in our Christian walk. I KNOW that we shed many tears and have moments of anger and even feel like failures when we face challenges in our lives. Christ is there though, just gently pushing us to move forward. The secret in all of this is just moving along a little bit at a time in our journey. We go through one battle and get the victory and then we are encouraged and fired up to move on and fight the next one.
If God were to give us full, complete victory and we never had to face another struggle, I think that pride would creep in. We would feel like it was us who overcame, it was our strength, our wisdom, etc. If we lived a consistent victorious life, would we look differently at people who didn’t? I think we would.
God does have a plan for each one of our lives. We must face struggles and trials so that God can strengthen us and encourage us and so we can see His loving and caring hand in our lives. We move forward in our journey little by little. So rejoice in each victory and savor them.
