Today's Devotional Thought

Prayer
When you pray to the Lord, are you honest? Have you ever had a day where everything goes wrong? The kids are sick, the laundry is piling up, the house is a mess and you can’t seem to get anything done. You are frustrated and find yourself complaining about everything. The end of the day comes and you put the kids to bed. You go into your bedroom and begin to pray. Will you be honest with the Lord and tell him that you had a terrible day and that you are upset and frustrated or will you tell him that everything is great and it was just another day and tomorrow will be better?
I recently read something that said that God can handle anything that we throw His way. God can handle our disappointment and our frustration and we can lay before him what is inside of us that day not what we think should be inside of us. We need to learn to just be honest with God. He is the one person in our lives that we can just let it out to.
I am sure that most of you reading this today have been through difficult times. When you face those tough times, who do you turn to? If you’re like me, sometimes it can be so painful that you don’t feel like you can talk to anyone other than the Lord. That is when we just need to be honest and tell Him all about our pain, our heartache and disappointment. I am learning that we don’t need to be perfect in our prayer life. We just need to be honest and tell God exactly how we are feeling about things in our life.
I found some scriptures that I want to share with you today that you can meditate on and memorize. These scriptures are reminders to us that God wants to hear from us and He wants to deliver us.
“In my trouble I called to the Lord: I called to my God for help.???
~Psalm 18:6
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.???
~Psalm 34:17
“When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them. With long life will I satisfy them.???
~Psalm 91:15-16
