Say Thank You

Do you thank God for the people in your life? Do you take time to tell someone thank you for their prayers, their love, and for their encouragement in your life? I have been very fortunate to have people that have been all of these things to me or have done these things for me in my lifetime. This time of year, it only seems right to say thank you.

I’ve thought about why we should say thank you. Quite honestly, it is just polite. We tell our kids when they are growing up that they should say thank you to a person who does something nice for them. I believe saying thank you can really encourage the person you are saying it to.

Think about a time when someone gave you a scripture, sent you a card, brought food by, or just said something nice. I think what makes it so special at times, is that they didn’t even realize that you were having a bad day, or were struggling with something. But, the Lord spoke to them and they were obedient. This, my friend, is a good reason to tell them thank you. To let them know that the Lord really used them to encourage you.

So, this Thanksgiving season, think of someone who has really been a blessing to you and send them a card or call them and let them know how thankful you are for them and let them also know that you are praying for them.

Memorize this verse today:

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone."
~I Timothy 2:1
