Verse of the Day

"When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day."

~Deuteronomy 8: 10-11

Continued Thanksgiving

Many of us spent the last few days with family or friends celebrating Thanksgiving. And, you may be experiencing a little post-holiday let down or sadness now that you have returned home, gone back to work or school, and returned to your usual routine. And, while some may be experiencing a little post-Thanksgiving blues, others may be excited as they plan for Christmas and all of the festivities of December that lay ahead.

Whether you are experiencing a little post-Thanksgiving sadness or eagerness to start planning for Christmas, please don't leave the sentiments of Thanksgiving too far behind. As it says in Deuteronomy 8, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, your God, now that you have eaten and are satisfied. Continue to offer Thanksgiving to the Lord each day. And, continue to tell those around you of the things that you are thankful for. It is very important that we continue to remember the origin of the blessings in our lives and to continue giving praise to God for those blessings. And, one of the greatest things that we have to be thankful for is that Jesus came to earth to save us. And, may we remember that gift during this Christmas season and continue to offer thanksgiving for that gift and all the other blessings in our lives.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to pay specific attention to the things in our life that we are thankful for. As we continue on towards Christmas, combine the sentiments of Thanksgiving with the gift of Christmas. Offer continued Thanksgiving to the Lord for everything that He has given to you, most specifically, his son. Do not forget the Lord, your God and all of the blessings he has bestowed upon you during this Christmas season. And, as it says in I Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Always be joyful, never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

Remember to offer continued thanksgiving today and all days. Regardless of circumstances or season of the year, we should always give thanks.

Memorize this verse today:

"When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day."
