Believe
Do you believe that the Lord can do the impossible? In the first chapter of Luke, Mary is visited by the Angel Gabriel and told that she will carry the Messiah. She does question how this is possible given the fact that she has never been with a man. And then, Gabriel replies, telling her that it will be of the Holy Spirit and that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:36).
Mary believes him and then she goes to visit Elizabeth. And, when Elizabeth greets her, she instantly recognizes that Mary has been blessed by God and that she is the mother of the Savior. However, there is more to this passage than just Elizabeth recognizing that Mary is carrying the Son of God. Elizabeth also recognizes that Mary believes it. And, Elizabeth says, “Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished.???
Have you ever been given a dream or a plan from God? Something that you believe He has called you to do? Do you believe that it will be accomplished?
Elizabeth’s statement is very interesting when you take a moment and ponder it. If the Lord has given you a dream and you believe in that dream and the power of God to accomplish it, then you will feel blessed. Essentially, believing in the Lord’s power to accomplish the dream that He has given you, is a blessing in and of itself. You are not only blessed in its accomplishment, you are blessed by believing in the possibility of its accomplishment. In fact, it is far better to believe in it than to worry about it not coming to fruition.
If God has given you a dream or a plan this Christmas season, then I encourage you to believe in it and that He can make it possible. And when you do believe, much like Mary, you will reap so many blessings. Because, as we have seen in the Christmas story, nothing is impossible with God.
