His Mercies are New Every Morning
As we move into a New Year and we make those New Year’s resolutions, we start to think about how we need to make changes. We need to be a better person, we need to be kinder, more loving, more giving. I said yesterday that I want to serve others this year. These obviously are great resolutions and great things to strive towards, however, what is so encouraging about these verses is that God tells us His mercies are new every morning. Do you know what that means? Every day that we wake up, God has given us a new day, a fresh start. We don’t need to wait till January 1st every year to make changes. And, as I read these verses in Lamentations, I am full of such encouragement and hope.
As this New Year begins for you, why not take these verses to heart and realize that each day is a fresh new start with the Lord. We have the opportunity everyday to make changes, to be kinder and more loving. Who can you encourage today or show kindness to?
