Today's Devotional Thought

Steps of a Good Man
In today’s scripture we see that God orders our steps, if we are His children. However, it is puzzling that the psalmist adds, though he falls, which leads us to think that not all of our steps are going to be successful ones. He does tell us, though, that even if we fall, we will not be cast down. The Lord will pick us up and hold us in His hand.
Have you ever thought that maybe some of the steps that we take on our journey in life will be steps that lead to failure because God has something that he wants us to learn? Maybe they only appear to be failures to us, but really they are victories because they bring us closer to God and to the person He desires for us to be. I’m sure that you can think of something right now that you would say is a failure in your life. Stop though and think about what you learned from that supposed failure. It is really only a failure if you give up on God and choose to dwell in self-pity from what you think was a failure. We all need to look at life as being directed by God and when we take steps that appear to be steps of failure, stop and ask what lesson it is that God wants you to learn and move forward.
Whatever I have faced in life I have always found this to be true, the Lord upholds with His hand. I have never been utterly cast down, even though it may have felt like it at times, the Lord has always held me in His hands.
If you are feeling today that you have been utterly cast down, then please look up and see the face of your Heavenly Father and then look under you and chances are you are being held in His hand. Yes, our steps are being ordered by God. So, why then should we ever fret? God has everything under His control and He will be there no matter what we face on this journey. I know this, my friends, because I have experienced it.
Trust Him today and find out for yourself that God is always there even when the steps we take lead us to think that we have failed. You see, God knows when we are weak and when we are hurting and ladies, some steps that we take are painful and they sometimes cause us to question God. I guess those steps are the ones that we think are steps of failure. Keep in mind that we haven’t failed, but rather have just come to a realization that we need His strength and continued guidance in our lives.
Stay strong ladies and continue to follow the Lord! Your steps are ordered of the Lord and He will be your stronghold and refuge in life.
