Today's Devotional Thought

Great is Thy Faithfulness
I am writing this devotional this morning to myself probably more than anyone else. A few months back I decided that I would write out my life in ministry. I thought about the people I have met in ministry and built connections with. I thought about the churches we have served in. I thought about the many ways the Lord had and continues to bless us. I have learned and seen through the years that God is faithful.
What has God done for you that, when you look back, you can see His hand on it and through it? Are you facing something now that seems impossible? Are you wondering where God is? I’ve been a Christian most of my life and have been in ministry for 13 years and I have days when I wonder where God is and if I am going to make it out of situations that seem overwhelming. We all struggle in these areas. I have found that my greatest help is in looking back and remembering what God has done for me and my family in the past. When I stop to remember God’s faithfulness it encourages me and I find myself trusting God and knowing that He will come through.
I know there are many of you today reading this that are struggling and maybe you are new to your faith or maybe you haven’t made a commitment to Christ and you are angry about your circumstances. I don’t know why you are facing what you are facing, but I do know that there is someone by the name of Jesus who can help you through those circumstances. Friend, sometimes we go through things and there isn’t always an explanation to why we are facing what we are facing but having someone to walk with us through those tough times can help us and strengthens us.
When thinking about this devotional, an old hymn came to mind that I want to share with you today. The title of the hymn is “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” This hymn, in my opinion, is one of the best. When I sing it my heart swells because I am reminded that each day when I open my eyes to start a new day that His mercies are new and His hand will provide all that I need. Let me share with you my favorite verse.
“Great Is Thy Faithfulness”
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth; Thine own dear
Presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright
hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed, Thy
Hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
I am praying today that you will allow Jesus to help you through whatever it is you are facing. Like the chorus says. “All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”
