Today's Devotional Thought

Do you have a situation in your life right now that feels hopeless? One that feels completely out of your control and you have no idea how it is going to work out? If you do, let me share one of my favorite verses with you: “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).
When I think of hopeless situations, I think of this verse. And, as much as I love this verse in NIV, I really like the entire passage in The Message version:
"I'll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out-- plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen.
When you come looking for me, you'll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed." God's decree. "I'll turn things around for you..." (v. 10-14).
When you think of your hopeless situations, where do you turn? Do you get serious about finding the Lord? Do you want it more than anything else?
One of the biggest blessings that can come out of tragedies and hardships is a strengthened relationship with the Lord. When you are at the end of your rope, you can call on Him and when you get serious about finding Him, He will answer you. And, you will not be disappointed when He does. And I believe that you will experience God in ways that you never have when you truly seek Him and put your dependence entirely in Him.
God is good and He is faithful. And, He can bring so much good to your life when you truly seek Him. And, when you do truly seek Him, He will prosper you. And, you will prosper in ways that are more than material. You will prosper by a renewed and strengthened faith in the Lord and a strong relationship with Him.
God has a plan. Rest in that as you are facing whatever you are facing today.
