I Quit!

Have you ever found yourself so worn down in a situation that you just said, “I quit!???? Maybe it was a job. Maybe it was a marriage. Maybe it was a friendship. Maybe it was your faith. But, whatever the situation was, it had gotten to a point where you just couldn’t fight for it anymore. It had gotten too hard and you just wanted to quit.

What does the Bible tell us about quitting?

The Bible is full of stories of people who were in hard situations. And, it is full of stories of people who felt like they just couldn’t fight anymore. But, I think the Bible is pretty clear on the topic of quitting.

I spent some time searching for verses on the topic of quitting when things get hard. And, as you can see from the following verses, when we are living for Christ, we can be certain that things will get hard. And, when things do get hard, we should not quit the situation. Instead, we should quit relying on our own strength to get us through. We should quit depending on ourselves. And, we should persevere with God’s strength. Because right at the moment that we think “its too hard,??? God replies, “Not for me. Maybe its too hard for you. But, not for me.???

If you are facing a challenging situation that leaves you feeling like it’s just too hard and you want to quit, then I encourage you to study and memorize the following verses. And, remember that God does not desire for us to quit just because something is too hard. Instead, if He has called us to it, He will strengthen us through it. Don’t quit something that God has for you. Call on Him instead.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24)

But you, brethren, be not weary in well doing. (2 Thessalonians 3:13)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. (Luke 9:62)

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (I Corinthians 15:58)

Memorize this verse today:

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
~Galatians 6:9
