In His Presence
There was a song that came out in 1989, my senior year of high school, that I learned and fell in love with. I want to share that song with you today.
IN HIS PRESENCE
In His presence there is comfort, In His presence there is peace. When we seek the Father’s heart we will find such blessed assurance, in the presence of the Lord.
When I first learned this song, I loved it. I searched for the music for it and sang it over and over again. Over the years as I have grown up physically and spiritually, this song has become even more special to me.
When you face life and it knocks you down and you look around and don’t see many people there to help you out, you quickly discover that you have no friend in your life quite like Jesus. He becomes your comfort and your peace. And when you spend time in his presence daily, you feel His assurance. You know that He is there for you and that He is faithful and true like no one else in your life can be.
How many of you today are reading this and feeling like life has knocked you down? Sweet friends, believe me when I tell you that I have experienced it so many times in the last few years. I remember weeping before the Lord wondering why life just kept on knocking me down. I have to be honest, I got no answers from him. Because of his silence, I decided I was going to throw myself into his word thinking that through His word I would hear Him speak. And, you know what happened? I fell in love with Him like never before and I realized that some of what I was experiencing was just life circumstances and other people’s poor choices. God did speak to me and I heard him very clearly. I heard Him tell me how much He loved me and how I was His child. I discovered through my trials that He was (and is) my strength when I am weak and that His grace is sufficient for me.
Being in God’s presence is where I desire to be daily. I want to worship Him because of his goodness to me and his constant faithfulness.
Ladies, life will knock us down from time to time, but be reassured that God is close. When you are feeling beaten and bruised by this life we are in, then go to His presence and he will give you comfort and peace and assurance that only He can give.
