That is So God
I just love how God works. In fact, there are moments in my life where I see things work together in a way that makes me just sit amazed and say, “That is so God.” In fact, much of my journey over the last couple of years has felt like that as I have watched God perform miracles, create a precious friendship, and work out the many details of my transition to Southeastern Virginia.
Yesterday, I found myself sitting in amazement once again. Wendy & I traveled to my hometown to have lunch with a dear friend of mine from 20 years ago. She brought with her another friend whom I had known years ago and a new friend of hers that I hadn’t met before. The five of us sat and talked for hours about our stories, our friendships, our God-moments, and how God had worked in and through our struggles. We laughed, cried, and shared together for hours. And at one moment, I sat there just so overwhelmed that God had brought the five of us together.
Do you know what made yesterday most special? What was most special about it was that each one of the five women at the table was different, had different stories, different backgrounds, and different lives. But, each one of us was similar in that we were all in love with the Lord and desperate to share that passion with others. We shared how God had saved us from different things in our lives and how we just crave time in his Word each day. And we shared how we are excited to see how God is going to work in our lives.
Ladies, I pray that you have other women in your life who you can laugh with, cry with, and share the Lord with. There is really nothing sweeter than sharing your struggles, your joys, and your love of the Lord with other women.
I believe God desires for us to have other people to walk this journey of life with us. And, I believe that he will send those people to you when you need them. But, I also believe that you have to walk towards those people when God sends them. You have to open up, share the contents of your heart, and allow your heart to connect to others.
If you don’t have a group of women or another woman in your life like this, then pray that the Lord would send someone to you. And once you pray that God will send this special person, then stay in tune with God so that you can feel his leading you to her. And when he does lead you to this person, then you must open up, share the contents of your heart, and allow your heart to connect to theirs.
Yesterday was a precious day of connecting with other women who love the Lord. And, I sat there amazed at how God led me to them and how much of a blessing in my life they are going to be. We were not meant to walk this journey alone. God sends people to us to encourage us, pray for us, and love us. Will you recognize them when God sends them? I hope so. Because when you do, it will bless you beyond measure.
