It's Me
The note was sweet and it was simply signed, “Love, Me.??? I knew who “Me??? was and because we were close, I really didn’t need any more indication of who the author of this note was other than a simple “Me??? in the signature. When you talk to God, are you close enough to end your prayers to Him with that same phrase? With a simple, “Love, Me.???
You can always tell when you have gotten to the place in a relationship where you are comfortable or close because you can call up that friend and leave a message on their answering machine that simply says, “Hey, it’s me. Give me a call when you get a chance.??? You don’t have to say who you are or leave your phone number, because your friend knows the sound of your voice and already has your number. Wouldn’t you love a relationship with the Lord like that too?
Well, I have good news. Every single one of us can have that sort of relationship with God. In fact, God wants nothing more from you than a deep, meaningful relationship where you can call on Him anytime and where you feel comfortable enough to just say, “Hey God, it’s me.??? No pretenses or fancy religious words. Just a simple, “Hey God, I want to talk to you and this is what I’m feeling.???
But one thing that you should know about God is that He wants you to draw close to Him. He is not going to force you into a deep, intimate relationship with Him. He wants you to pursue Him and when you do, you can experience the type of closeness that you desire. The type of closeness where you feel comfortable just looking skyward and say, “Hey God, it’s me.??? But you have to take the first step.
Call God up today and say, “Hey, it’s me and I want to be close. Draw near to me Lord. Love, Me.???
