Today's Devotional Thought

Those Other Days
Some days are better than others. And yesterday, was one of those “other” days. Nothing seemed to go right, time was just flying by, and with each passing hour, none of my goals for the day were being met. And I found myself sitting down in the middle of my day with tears in my eyes, just so frustrated.
Ever been there?
And then, I remembered a verse that a dear friend had sent me earlier that morning. It was a familiar verse, but one that I seem to need to be reminded of often: Philippians 4:8 "And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right and pure, and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
What fabulous advice.
I know I’ve written about this verse before, but it just struck me fresh once again yesterday. It is so very critical that we fix our thoughts on what is good, true, honorable, and lovely. As women, we deal with so many things and there are many opportunities in our day for us to get frustrated, stressed, or disappointed in ourselves or others. And if we focus on those negative things, we will not be effective. And friends, it is simply not healthy for us.
The next time you have one of those “other” days, please fix your mind on good things. Don’t focus on everything that is going wrong. Instead, think about things that are excellent. It really does work. Trust me!
