Today's Devotional Thought
July 25, 2011 by Rachel Piferi
My heart is so very full today as I write this devotion. This week, Wendy and I will be sharing all about the She Speaks Conference that we attended this weekend. One of my new friends from Proverbs 31 Ministries described the day after a women’s conference as a “holy hangover” and I have to say that I am feeling that today!!
So much was shared and poured into us while we were there and I am simply meditating on all of it today. And, my heart and mind are so full. So, please forgive the brevity of today’s devotion.
I want to share the Bible passage that Lysa TerKeurst ended the conference with. It was Psalm 126: 2-3:
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The LORD has done great things for them.”
The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
This passage very beautifully captures the essence of this past weekend and the experiences that I have whenever I go to a women’s retreat or conference. And, I am grateful today for the laughter, the joy, and all of the great things that God did in us, and through us, this weekend.
If you have never been to a Christian women’s conference before, then may I recommend that you attend one. Grab a girlfriend and go spend the weekend worshipping the Lord with other women. You will not regret it and you will be blessed, filled, and equipped to continue this journey of life in ways that you cannot even comprehend.
I am so grateful for the weekend that I have had with the sweet sisters of Proverbs 31 Ministries. Wendy and I had an amazing weekend and we look forward to sharing it all with you this week.
