Today's Devotional Thought

Wherever We Go
Close to 3 years ago, today's verse changed my outlook on life. I was going through one of the most difficult times of my life and I was struggling with where God was leading my family at the time. I clung to this verse and very quickly discovered that trusting God completely and walking with Him through my darkest days brought about peace that was hard to explain.
Yesterday morning I opened up my devotional book and began reading and this verse was listed. It took me back to that place and time when I clung to God and sought His face for direction, wisdom, and guidance. I remember letting go of my circumstances and telling God that I just couldn't handle what was happening and that I was going to lay it down at his feet. Whew...what freedom I felt, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders.
Today, 3 years later, my life is in a very different and happy place. But daily I face things that overwhelm me at times or that seem more than I can handle. I have discovered on this journey that Joshua 1:9 is a remarkable verse; one that reminds us that the God we serve has commanded us to not be terrified or discouraged in this life, but to be reassured by the fact that He walks with us wherever we go.
I don't know what you are facing today but I do know that we serve a God who has commanded us to not be terrified or discouraged. And, do you know why? Because He is with us every moment of every day helping us to face those things that we feel are too difficult or too discouraging. He gives us strength and peace that can only come from Him.
Sweet friends, rest in that today!!
