Verse of the Day

"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

~Philippians 3:13-14

Press On

I am more and more convinced that one of the most important principles in the Bible is the principle of persistence and endurance. Pressing on when we just don't want to, don't think we can, and don't even know what we are pressing on towards.

Someone recently sent me a quote that said, "Don't quit before the miracle." Reworded, you could say, "Keep pressing on until you see God do something magnificent."

How many times do we quit before the miracle?

Before we get to experience God's best for us, we give up. We say we just can't do it anymore and we stop moving towards God's perfect purpose for us. And we miss the blessings, the awe, and the full experience of God that come with pressing on.

Oh how I do not want to miss God's best for me. I want to press on through the trials, the mistakes, and the hardships of life. I want to press on towards the goal that he has for me. And I want to channel his strength daily to press on when I simply donít feel like I can anymore.

I found a song recently that I want to share with you that shares what I am feeling even better than I can articulate it in writing. I hope you enjoy it and I pray that you use the strength from above to press on.

Memorize this verse today:

"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
~Philippians 3:13-14
