He'll Do It Again

Does God seem far away? There is a saying that goes something like this, "If God feels far away just remember He hasn't moved."

Many times throughout the Old Testament God tells his people to remember his laws and decrees. He wanted his people to remember the wonders and miracles that he performed on their behalf. From the time they were in Egypt, to their time in the desert, to the arrival in the promised Land, and every time in between. Even down to what had been written about their ancestors and what he had done for them, God wanted them to remember Him. Remember how much He loved them and how He had worked out so much for them in their life and in the lives of those before them.

I believe that God wants us to do the same.

We must look back in our own lives and see God's faithfulness, his miracles, and his wonders in our lives. Not only our lives, but much like the Israelites we must look back and be reminded of how God has been true and faithful to others in our family. When we reflect on God's goodness and his faithfulness I believe that it changes us.

We all have seasons that are tough and we get worn and tired, but when we search for the Lord in the midst of those tough times and remember his goodness and how He has always come through, I know (from experience) that there washes over us a true sense that all will be okay because God has always been faithful. He can't be anything but faithful. He strengthens us to do and endure what we are facing on our journey.

If you are facing something today that has you overwhelmed and feeling tired and worn out, my challenge to you is to remember. Remember what God has done for you in your life and what he has done in the lives of those you love. Seek Him. Search for him and when you do, he promises in Hebrews 11:6 that he will reward you for it.

I have added a song today that I sang many years ago as a teenager and it has impacted my life tremendously. It is a reminder that God will do for us now what He has done for us before in our lives. He'll Do It Again.

Memorize this verse today:

"Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given."
