It is the Lord
When Rachel and I began After the Miracle, it was to share our stories and what the Lord was showing us on our journey. We wanted to encourage other ladies and show them how God was faithful in our lives.
We are coming up on our 3 year anniversary and I can hardly believe it. We did not know how God would use our words, but I am humbled as I hear people comment on how our words have encouraged them or how it was exactly what they needed to hear on that particular day.
Thank you Jesus!!!
Rachel and I are two women on a journey. We are not perfect and honestly have days when we truly believe we are failing miserably in this life. But ladies, on those days I am reminded that his mercies are new every morning.
I recently watched an interview with Beth Moore and her daughter Melissa. They were talking about the James Bible study they worked on together. Beth said something that made me stop in my tracks. She said that many times she has jumped into a project ready to conqueror it but mid-way through feels like there is no way she can finish it. At another point, she spoke about Melissa (her daughter) starting to work with her and how she (her daughter) really needed to reach the point where she realized that she may have the degrees and the intellectual knowledge to write, but that isn't what it is all about. It is coming to the realization that the Lord is the one who gave those talents and He needs to be the one glorified.
Ladies, sometimes we begin a project all pumped up and move forward full of pride. We are working in an area that we are equipped for and we know for certain that we will knock it out of the park. But how many times do we hit a wall and say "I can't finish this, it's too hard?"
I believe that is when God says "Finally my child you have reached the point where you need my strength and recognize it." I had a precious friend whose favorite verse was Philippians 4:13 which is I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. God does equip us, he gives us talents and gifts to use for Him, but when we become full of pride and use them for our glory and not His, we will fail. We need to see who our strength comes from and move forward in that understanding.
After the Miracle is something that Rachel and I love. It is something we know the Lord led us to begin 3 years ago. It would be easy to say it is because of Rachel's degrees and my ministry experience that it has gained readers, but even writing that makes me laugh out loud. It is because God has worked in our lives and we have submitted to Him that anyone would ever read this blog.
Thank you faithful readers for coming to this site. My prayer is that you are truly encouraged and uplifted by the words the Lord gives us. You are loved and prayed for by both of us. I pray that you know that His mercies are new every morning and that He has gifted you to do mighty things for Him and that you are humbled by that and allow Him to work in your life.
