Verse of the Day

"Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

~I Corinthians 15:57-58

Victory

I saw this quote recently that I just had to share with all of you today. And it read:

You are not fighting for victory, you are fighting from victory.

Don't you just love that? We know that we have victory in Christ. We win in the end. And because we know that, we can fight through the hardships of this life with confidence. And fight from that victory!

Have you ever watched a recorded football game and then someone tells you who wins before you get to the end? I have done that. We are avid Tennessee Vol fans and we record every game that we cannot watch live. And sometimes, friends will post on Facebook or will tell me if the Vols won or not. Because we are such fans, we will still watch the recorded game even though we know the end. But, I watch it with different emotions and a totally different experience when I know the outcome than when I don't know. There could be parts of the 3rd quarter where the Vols are losing and I don't get nervous because I know they pull it out in the end. Regardless of how bad things get in the game, I know we win.

The same is true of life. We know the ending. We know we win. We know that Christ has conquered death and that we have complete victory and will live with him someday. And for that reason, I can endure the hardships of this life and fight from that victory. Oh how that changes my perspective in life.

In this season of life, if you are fighting to endure, please fight from the victory that you have in Jesus Christ. In this life we are not fighting for victory friends. We are fighting from victory!

Memorize this verse today:

"Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
~I Corinthians 15:57-58
