Are You Sold Out?

God's Word, His instruction, must get into the very marrow of our bones.

What does that mean?

We claim Jesus and want to surrender to Him and allow Him to rule and reign in our lives, but yet there seems to be one or two areas of our lives that we hold onto rather tightly and almost refuse to change for one reason or another.

We are all guilty of it at one time or another in our lives.

We think that maybe we can read certain books or watch certain movies. Be involved in certain activities that we know very well compromises our testimony. We think we can talk a certain way to others or use language that, once again, we know is wrong.

Why do we do these things?

I believe the truth is that we are not willing to give up and truly surrender EVERYTHING.

EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES TO THE LORD.

We like reading, watching or acting all those ways so we continue without much thought probably.

Can I ask you a question if you are someone that is struggling in one of these areas? Do you think what you are reading, watching, the way you are talking, treating others, the language you are using honors God?

If you hesitate for even one moment then I think you have your answer.

Philippians 4:8 tells us this, Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.

As women who love the Lord and are living for Him we are to be in His word, learning it, studying it and allowing it to fill us up and change our lives. James 1:22 says, Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourself. Do what it says.

My challenge to all of us today is that we will allow God to come in and take up residence in EVERY area of our lives. That we will allow Him and His word to go deep into the marrow of our bones and to change us to be more like Him.
