Today's Devotional Thought

Known and Loved
My husband knows something is wrong by the slightest change in my posture or countenance. Without even having to say anything, he can know when I am sad, when I am hurt, when I am angry. And while he may not always know why, he always knows something is wrong.
I love that.
I love how someone knows me so well that the slightest clue can tell them something's wrong. He knows me. And it feels so good to be known.
But, as great as this feels from him, it pales in comparison to how the Lord knows me. John 10:14 tells us that Jesus knows us. In this verse he says, "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me."
Can I tell you how much security that brings me.
Jesus knows me.
Rest in that for a minute. He knows how I think. He knows what I fear. He knows what has hurt me deeply. He knows what I struggled with yesterday and what I will struggle with today.
Jesus knows me.
And because he knows me, he knows how to help me. How to comfort me. How to strengthen me.
I don't know about you, but that makes me feel so safe and strengthened and loved.
As a new week starts, rest in the fact that Jesus knows you and all that you are carrying into this week and all that you will encounter this week. And he is waiting to walk through it all with you, strengthening you as someone who knows exactly how to do it.
I pray you all have a wonderful Monday and a Jesus filled week. May you feel his presence mightily today and may you feel known and loved.
