Verse of the Day

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

~Isaiah 53:5

Today's Devotional Thought

This is Love

Today's devotion is brief. In part, because I do not have the words to fully articulate how much today means. For me, today is a powerful reminder of how much Jesus loves us.

Today, Jesus died for us.

A brutal, horrific, undeserved death.

All because he wanted us to be back with him and the only way we could be is if someone suffered the penalty for our sins.

So he took the penalty for us.

So that we could take a place in eternity with him.

An undeserved death so that we could have an undeserved place in heaven.

That is love. A saving love.

On this Good Friday, I urge you to reflect on Jesus' love for you. Sweet friends, his love is greater than anything you have ever experienced. And his love was fully demonstrated on this day when he willingly died for you.

What a beautiful gift from a beautiful Savior.

May you reflect on that today and feel overwhelmingly loved on this day that Jesus willing walked down the Via Delorosa to save us.

Memorize this verse today:

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
~Isaiah 53:5
