Verse of the Day

"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

~Proverbs 31:30

Stained Glass Masquerade

I want to share a song with you today that the Lord reminded me of this week. The title of the song is "Stained Glass Masquerade" by Casting Crowns.

I am saddened by how many people I talk to who are battling giants in their lives that no one ever knows about, especially those in the church. Many walk into the walls of the church and look around and are intimidated because everyone seems to have it all together. The women are dressed perfectly with shoes matching and jewelry sparkling. The men are in their suits with shirts pressed and ties perfectly knotted. The families are seated in their pews, Bibles opened and ready for the service to begin.

Yes, from all appearances everyone has it all together.

But I ask you, do any of us really have it all together?

Are there any of us who aren't battling something?

For many, we walk into the church with a smile on our face and we just want someone to care, someone to notice that we are dying inside. Listen to this song today and know that, if you are someone who wears a mask and you look around and think that everyone else has it all together, they don't. Jesus' love, His redemption, grace and mercy is what allows any of us to be able to walk into a church with our masks off.

Memorize this verse today:

"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
~Proverbs 31:30
