Verse of the Day

"The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."

~Isaiah 58:11

Today's Devotional Thought

In Your Tomorrows

Wendy and I often talk about the first devotion that ever ran on After the Miracle. In fact, just yesterday we were talking about how much comfort we get from knowing that the Lord is where we are going. Even when we can't see what is ahead of us and are tempted to worry about it, we can rest in the promise that the Lord goes before us and leads us there.

Here is that first devotion. If you are in a season of uncertainty or pain and are finding yourself anxious about the future, please rest in the fact that the Lord is with you and is guiding you to a future that he is quite certain about.

Follow him. Because you have not gone this way before...

Are you hurting today? Is that pain because of the loss of a loved one, bad news from a doctor or maybe it is from a deep betrayal from someone that you loved and trusted. It is so difficult to persevere through the pain that we feel. If you are like me you sometimes find yourself asking God, "Where are you in all of this?"

Well, friend, the scriptures tell us in Isaiah 58:11 that the Lord will always lead us. What does that mean? I would like to think that that means God is in our tomorrows. That he has gone before us and already knows the pain and heartache that we will experience. And, He is waiting there to help us through all of it. I find such comfort in knowing that no matter what my tomorrows may hold, the Lord is already there waiting to help me through, to wrap me in His arms of love, comfort me, and give me strength to face whatever comes.

Memorize this verse today:

"The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."
~Isaiah 58:11
