Today's Devotional Thought
July 08, 2013 by Rachel Piferi
Good morning friends! It seems like it has been a long time since we have written to you all. Two weeks ago, Wendy and I had the privilege of going to Costa Rica on a mission trip with a team of seven people from our church. It was simply amazing. And, I have to admit, my words are going to fail me as I even try to describe to you all that the Lord did on that trip.
This week, Wendy and I are going to attempt to describe to you some of our experiences, some of our God moments, and some of the contents of our hearts coming home. And in our words this week, I pray that you see how mighty and awesome our God is, how important missions is, and how obedience to go on a trip like this can make such an impact in your own life and in the lives of others.
We serve an amazing God who does amazing things all over this planet. And I love getting out of my routine and out of my comfort zone and seeing God in a new way. That is what mission trips allow me to do. When the language is different, when the food is different, when the customs are different, my God is the same. And when you strip away everything that is common and comfortable, I can see Him so clearly.
That is what this week was for me.
Oh how I love stepping out into new things and seeing God. It is powerful and it is life changing.
This week, we will share many stories with you and I pray that you see God the way we did on this trip. We are happy to be back with our families in the United States, but a piece of hearts will always be with the beautiful people that we met and worked alongside in Costa Rica.
I pray you have a wonderful Monday and we look forward to telling you more about our trip this week.
