My Journey to Costa Rica
I want to share with you today my journey leading up to Costa Rica.
I am what you would call an anxious person. I like the familiar, the comfortable, and the predictable. When faced with the question of whether or not to go to Costa Rica I attempted to come up with a list of reasons why it was not feasible for me to go.
I thought that it would be a nice time for my husband and 18 year old daughter before she went off to college.
I was quite certain that money was a real issue. After all, my husband is a pastor and pastors don't make a lot of money.
So, I told Rachel there was no way I could go and I told God that I would be the biggest prayer warrior ever.
Believe me when I tell you that within that week someone anonymously paid for my husband's entire trip and paid for 1/2 of my daughter's trip. I knew that God was speaking to me loud and clear I was to go and he would take care of everything else.
As the months unfolded, God showered me with scripture verses to prepare me. He put people in my path that encouraged me and prayed over me. Rachel and I picked out a bible study by Kelly Minter, "Nehemiah," to do in our Spring Bible Study and little did we know that the videos Kelly did with the bible study were all missions minded.
I don't know why I was surprised.
It was another way of God shouting at me to go.
I can't wait to share with you this week what God did in the life of this anxious, structure loving soul in a foreign country where I did not understand their language or always know what I was eating.
But one thing I did know, they loved Jesus there too.
And my life was about to be drastically changed...
