Verse of the Day

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

~Titus 2:3-5

Living a Life to be Watched

Recently, I have had some special moments with my 9 year old daughter. I have noticed her really growing up in the last few months and she and I have had precious moments of conversation, laughing, shopping, and just being together. I have really, really begun to see, in some of her behaviors, how she tries to emulate me or is watching me for how to do this girl-thing.

And I have become so convicted by the importance of modeling what it means to be a godly woman to her. And, not just to my daughter, but to any young girl or teenager who may be watching.

What about you? Have you noticed the young girls and young teens who may be watching you? Watching your reactions to life. Watching the way you dress. Watching how you spend your time. Watching how you treat your friends and family.

Watching how you love Jesus.

I want to urge you today to look around and see who may be watching you and learning how to be a godly woman from you. We all have such an enormous responsibility to teach our young girls and young women what it means to be women who love Jesus and live it well.

I ran across a blog this morning that I want to share. It relates to the relationship between moms and their daughters, but I think it speaks well to any relationships we may have with younger girls or teens. There are many things in this article that we can do for the younger girls and women in our lives as we model what it means to live this life well as a daughter of the King.

I pray you all have a wonderful Monday. And live life well out there today, okay? One that can be watched and modeled.

Memorize this verse today:

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."
~Titus 2:3-5
