Today's Devotional Thought

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you...we are in charge of our Attitudes"
There are very few things we have control over in our lives. This poem by Chuck Swindoll says it well. We cannot change our past, or the fact that people will act a certain way and we cannot change the inevitable.
Proverbs 20:24 says, "the LORD directs our steps," so why try to understand everything along the way? We cannot change many things that come into our lives. We cannot change those people who walk into our day and it seems to ruin it...but we can choose the attitude we will have in embracing it all.
Let me ask you a question...
Before your feet hit the ground this morning what were your first thoughts? Did you think about your day and wonder how it would all unfold? Did you find yourself making a mental do-list and then wondering how much of it you could accomplish today?
Or did you get up this morning and pray that you would have the strength to choose the right attitude for this day.
Attitude is everything!!
The attitude that you chose this morning before your feet ever hit the ground is the one that is dictating your day…so let me ask you….how is it going?
Your attitude makes a difference. The attitude you choose each day will either have you soar through your day focusing on the blessings of it or it will have you sink to the pit focusing on all that is wrong in it. It will either have you say, "This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24) or your attitude will have you say that God has forgotten you.
And that my friend is a lie because we know that God never leaves us or forsakes us.
Today, I want to challenge you to focus on Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it." There are things you cannot change in this life but you can change the attitude you have towards them. Choose today to focus on how God has blessed you.
Have a great day friends and remember THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE!!
