He Wants Us to Have the Very Best
Have you ever stopped and thought about all the ways God speaks to us? In my own life He speaks through His Word, through our time together in prayer, definitely through praise music and other types of music. He has used those closest to me to speak truth into my life and to reveal things that I am sure they didn't even know they were being used to reveal. He has used sermons preached by my husband and others to get my attention. I think what leaves me speechless sometimes is how He orchestrates all of it in a way that gets our attention and leaves us with our mouth hanging open, tears in our eyes knowing that in that moment God has reached down with such love and tenderness and spoken to us.
Have you had that experience? There are some of us out there who God needs to do something big to get our attention. Now the reason for that could be that we are just stubborn and like things the way they are so we aren't really listening, praying, but not listening to hear what God has to say to us. We want God to answer and we want God to speak but only if it is in a way that we like.
I am smiling because God and I have been having quite the conversations recently about some things in my life and I have been praying, but not so sure I have been doing all that much listening. Another way to say that is I am doing my best to listen but sometimes I struggle with what he is saying to me even though I know it is being said with such love for me.
God has a way of getting our attention and you know what that says to me? It tells me that He loves me and wants the VERY best for me and God knows what that very best is. He doesn't want me to stay in a life that is less than abundant. He wants me to have the best life.
Sometimes God has to do something big to get our attention and to make us realize that life lived with Him in obedience and in willingness, in faith and trust and in believing is the very best life, a life that is beyond anything we could have ever imagined.
So friends, today I am praying for you, praying that you will listen and hear God's voice. His voice is the sweetest sound we can ever hear as His children, it brings direction, guidance, discipline (in love), and comfort. He truly desires to give you an abundant life!!
