Verse of the Day

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.[14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,[15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.[16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Fight

I have been up for a little while this morning and in my quiet time with the Lord, I was unsettled.

I have been wrestling (in a good way) with something my husband preached on in his sermon Sunday at church. It was about the helmet of salvation. He said that when we put that helmet on it protects our minds, it gives us clear thinking and honestly gives us the mind of Christ (I added that). In other words, it gives us His perspective on things.

I searched out some articles on this and one article that I read said Satan has a two edged sword and when he uses it he comes at us with discouragement and doubt. Satan can sometimes do a great job of filling our minds with doubts about our salvation, about our parenting, our calling in life or honestly any area where we feel insecure. Then there is the discouragement that he speaks ever so softly, but to us it sounds like he is yelling it.

I have become so very aware recently how ticked off Satan is that God's truth is going forward regardless of how badly he desires for it to be stopped. He is pulling out every tactic he has to distract us, to discourage us, to create doubts in our hearts and minds and to get us to a point where we are just to weary to put on that armor and fight.

Are you in that season?

As I was writing in my journal this morning concerning things that have happened in my life over the last couple of weeks, I became very aware of how Satan has managed to discourage me and use certain things in my life to get me sidetracked and distracted so that I could not even focus on what I know God has for me to do in the coming weeks in ministry. That is one of his best tactics where I am concerned. So, as I wrote line after line in my journal, I could feel this fervency rising up in me. I could almost feel myself standing up and putting on the breast plate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, belt of truth, my shoes (I love shoes) of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith (and getting ready to lock that shield with others), and the sword of the spirit. I am ready to fight girlfriends even in my weary state of life and even though Satan is doing all he can do to distract and discourage. I am making the choice to gather every ounce of strength I can find to stand up and say "No more Satan, enough is enough."

How about you?

Sisters, we have got to fight, we have got to show Satan that he is not going to win. That no matter what tactics he tries we have our armor on and we are ready to stand our ground firmly.

In case you don't know...WE WIN!!

I don't know what you are facing today maybe you feel like you have no strength left to even lift your shield and sword or to put on your helmet. Then may I suggest that you tell one of your sisters in Christ and allow her to help you put on that armor today, allow her to pray with you and for you. We are in a battle and although some of us are pretty battle weary there are others around us who can help us.

Memorize this verse today:

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.[14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,[15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.[16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
