New Seasons of Life

I've entered a new season in life. Last Saturday (June 2nd) my baby girl married the man of her dreams. It was the most perfect day. She looked stunning in her wedding dress and the venue was incredible. Her dad married them and I sat and watched with tears in my eyes at how special of a moment I was witnessing. We laughed, cried tears of joy, took pictures, ate good food and danced the night away. At one point I stepped back and watched my girl as she danced with her new husband and I knew in front of me I was seeing years of prayer answered. The smile on her face said it all. She was so happy and in love.

Her new husband is everything I prayed for for her. The last year as we have been preparing for the wedding I have spent a lot of time around him. I've watched him so tenderly watch out for her, support her in her decisions, take charge when needed (which is hard since my daughter is a genuine redhead...LOL). He has such a sweet calmness, but in control, way about him and my daughter needs that. I am so amazed at how faithful God has been. I know that God is always faithful, but it seems trusting him with our children is one of the hardest areas. My daughter has had many struggles in the last 10 years of her life and I have spent hours on my knees in prayer pleading with God at times. In His timing, He always answered in ways that were without a doubt Him. I will say those answers weren't always what I wanted, but they were always what she needed to grow, develop and to learn to trust in Him.

I gained a son last weekend, I didn't lose a daughter. However, today I find myself wondering what this new season will look like. She has a new husband, someone she will go to with her problems, dreams, concerns, new adventures. Someone she will completely and wholly share her life with and I am beyond happy for her. It's what a mother wants and prays for for her children, yet I'm not sure I am prepared for the letting go that needs to happen. For almost 23 years, her father and I have been the ones listening to all the excitement of new adventures, the tears of heartbreaks and failures. We have held her when she thought it was the end of the world, rejoiced when she succeeded, and have been her biggest cheerleaders.

My prayer this morning is that the Lord will help me in this new season of life. Oh, I will be their biggest cheerleader in life for sure. My desire is to speak wisdom when they need it, give insight when appropriate, speak truth from God's Word, continue to be their prayer warrior, love them unconditionally through every season they go through and just be there for them in whatever way they may need.

Life is changing and it is good and I know that God will continue to guide and direct my family through every season. He is always faithful. Great is Thy Faithfulness!!

If you find yourself in a new season of life and not sure how to navigate it, allow me to encourage you today that God is faithful. It may be a hard season, one you're not too crazy about walking through. And if it is, then my prayer for you is that he will give you someone to walk it with you. That he will make himself real to you in the ways you need for him to. God is always with us; Scripture reminds us in so many places that He never leaves us nor forsakes us. So no matter the season, be encouraged that your God is with you, he will strengthen you, guide you and love you through.
