Today's Devotional Thought

The Amazing Race
Some days, the words just stream out of my heart and onto the keyboard with very little effort. And some days (like today), the words just do not come. The funny thing is, though, I am having a hard time writing today, not because I have nothing to say, but because I have so much to say. And if you could only see how many times I have started typing and then hit the backspace to erase what I was trying to communicate. I've started writing about abundance, friendship, self esteem, among a host of other topics in the last 30 minutes and I could get none of those to flow.
Ladies, I have to tell you, I have been hit with so many different topics lately and I am overcome with how much I feel like God is showing me in various areas. It seems that every woman I interact with is struggling with something or conquering something different. And, I am simply amazed as I sit back and watch God at work in different people's lives. I am also so very blessed to be able to be a part of some of their stories.
As I think of the various things going on in the lives of women I know, I keep going back to one thing: when God is at the center of your life, then you truly cannot comprehend what he has for you around the bend. Chances are, there will be some growth involved. And as we always see with growth, there are some significant growing pains. But, if you hold on, the victory that the Lord brings on the other side of those growing pains is nothing short of magnificent. And the reliance on the Lord and endurance that develops through that growth is also magnificent.
I guess I have one message today: live your life close to the Lord. Love him. Trust him. And follow him wherever he leads. I can just about promise you that the journey will have its bumps. But, I can also guarantee you that it will lead somewhere amazing.
And if you ever sit down to try to write about it, you just may find yourself struggling to fully articulate how amazing the journey is.
