Verse of the Day
"Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.??? The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them."

Today's Devotional Thought

Are You a Donkey?
This week, we are preparing for Easter and on this past Sunday, we celebrated Palm Sunday, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem and was revered by many. As we look at Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem, the donkey played an important role. In fact, we see in the early part of today’s scripture that Jesus already knew that he wanted this particular donkey. He was thinking of it in advance of using it. And, he had a plan for this donkey; it would raise him up to be seen by those lining the streets when he entered the city. The donkey was exactly where it needed to be, Jesus knew where it was, and this was all done so that it could be used by Jesus.
We are much like this donkey. God wants us, he knows where we are and he is thinking of us. Ladies, God knew us before we were even born, he created us and has a plan and purpose for our lives. One of our biggest purposes in this life is to lift Jesus up to be seen by everyone around us. God wants to use us, but we must be available to Him. Jesus has set us apart just like that donkey and He desires to do amazing things through us for Him. When we find our plan and purpose in this life, whatever that may be, we need to look for ways to lift Jesus up so that others see Him and then understand that it’s not about us getting any glory and or credit for what we’ve done. But instead, it is about Jesus being always seen in everything we say and do.
This is a very important week in our Christian faith. And as we reflect on all that this week means to us my prayer is that we will be like the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem that Sunday. That we will lift Him up for all to see and that those around us will worship Him and honor Him through their lives.
Memorize this verse today:
"Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.??? The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them."
