He Is Risen!

Yesterday was Easter. It is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the day that really defines our faith. It is the day that the early apostles of Christ were earnestly telling others about.

In today’s scripture verse, we see Paul talking about the resurrection. And, earlier in chapter 15 of I Corinthians, Paul is reminding the church at Corinth what they believe in. He was reminding them, once again, of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and how that is the cornerstone of our faith.

And, in verse 14, Paul states, “and if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.???

Through this very short, but powerful verse, we can see Paul’s assertion that the resurrection of Christ is central to our faith. And, if Jesus really didn’t raise from the grave, then everything that we preach and do is useless. Our faith depends on Jesus Christ being raised from the dead. And, this is what we celebrate on Easter. We celebrate Jesus’ victory over death and his power over the grave.

Jesus suffered a brutal death to pay the price for our sins. But, the Easter story is not merely about the crucifixion of Christ. Easter is about Jesus paying the price for our sins and then victoriously raising from the dead and demonstrating His power over this earth and over sin and death.

Remember today that He is risen! And, Jesus conquered death so that all who believe in his crucifixion and resurrection will also conquer death through eternal life in heaven with Him.

Memorize this verse today:

"And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith."
~I Corinthians 15:14
