Today's Devotional Thought

Happy Birthday
Today is my husband’s birthday. I thought that I would share with you why this verse exemplifies him.
As little girls we dream of growing up and meeting our prince charming. We talk about how we want him to be tall, dark, and handsome. We want him to take away all our fears and make us feel secure and protected. We desire for him to be our biggest cheerleader in life and love us like no other. I dreamed of all of these as a little girl and the number one thing I desired as I grew older was that he would love Jesus more than anything else.
Like many of you, I chose some guys that I look back and wonder why I ever thought they were worth my time. Many of us chose the bad boy thinking that just maybe we will be able to save them, what I like to call missionary dating. That almost never works out!!!
I remember praying one night very specifically after coming out of a terrible relationship that the Lord would bring Mr. Right along and that it would be so obvious to me. I was done wasting my time on guys who were all wrong for me. Three weeks later I met my husband. I was taken immediately. He was everything that I ever wanted in a guy. The best part was he was going to be a Pastor. I was thrilled and already knew that God had a call on my life as well. It was nine months later and we were married. I feel so blessed and so fortunate to be married to this wonderful man.
Today’s verse describes my husband. He loves Jesus with all his heart and treats me and loves me so much like Christ loves the church. Today, on this special day, I want him to know that I love him very much and everyday I thank God for the gift of him being my husband.
Ladies, if you are mothers, let me strongly encourage you to be praying for your children, that God would bring the perfect spouse into your child’s life when the time is right. When you are married to the one that God has for you, it is amazing. I am not saying that there aren’t tough times, but when you know that you are married to God’s best, they are so much easier to get through because your love is so strong and Christ centered.
Happy Birthday my sweet and loving husband, please know today that I love you more than words could ever express.
