Today's Devotional Thought

Pour Out My Complaints
As I type this devotional I am sitting out on my car port admiring the beautiful day that the Lord has given us. I have not gotten to sit much lately; my life in ministry has been super busy and it seems that there have been and are many in our church experiencing deep waters. I have spoken to many of them, prayed with them, for them and have cried tears for them and with them. My heart hurts when they hurt.
In the midst of all that ministry is, I am facing my own struggles and I find myself weary. I spent a big part of my weekend praying and asking God for strength and direction. When I got up this morning it was like he reached down and placed this verse right where I would read it today, the day that I needed it most.
There are sometimes when you can't really articulate to anyone else what you are feeling or dealing with other than God. The pain might be too deep, or maybe what you are facing is way too close to your heart and it really is just between you and God. These verses say it all. We serve and love a God who listens to our deepest cries. We can go to him and pour out our hearts to Him and tell Him what our complaints are, what our troubles are. Oh yes, He already knows them but it is really for us that we go to Him. We need to lay all of these things at His feet and allow Him to guide us and direct us in the way that we should go. Friends, even now I tear up thinking that the God of Heaven is waiting for me to come to Him with my needs with my troubles, in those moments when I am so overwhelmed.
God knows.
Oh how I am so thankful that He knows.
I pray these verses speak to you today like they did me. I am comforted by knowing that I serve a God who is only a prayer away.
