Verse of the Day

"God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."

~Ephesians 3:20 (MSG)

Reflection

I really don't think I will ever be able to get through singing Happy Birthday for Isabella without crying. I remember on her first birthday, I couldn't even sing as I reflected on the gift from God that she is. And then again yesterday, as we sang to her while spending some time with family, I was overwhelmed with emotion and just could not get through the song.

In just about a week, we will celebrate Isabella's 4th birthday. We will celebrate a day four years ago when doctors, nurses, and students stood shocked in an operating room in Baltimore while choirs of angels sang in victory.

I will be honest. Her miraculous birth is really too much for me to comprehend. And every year, when her birthday comes around, I am overwhelmed again with the awesomeness of God. Oh what a powerful display of his sovereignty and grace. A day where I truly met God and it changed me.

My God encounter.

I wish that I had the words to fully articulate what her little face does to my heart. A little life that doctors had given up on, but God had such big plans for. An amazing moment where God said, "My plans are higher, greater, and so much more than you can even comprehend or request in your wildest dreams." (Ephesians 3:20)

Oh how I wish you could see inside my heart and feel what I feel when I watch her running through the grass with her cousins, holding her sister's hand, and yelling, "Wait up Lukey."

Oh how heaven must rejoice as they see this little life saved from death by our Almighty God. I love her birthday and the chance to celebrate this little life that God created, healed, and has such a mighty plan for.

As we go through this week leading up to Isabella's birthday, I will be reflecting on the Savior of my soul. The One who, through saving Isabella, also saved me. The almighty God who had a plan to use this precious little life to change my life, my focus, and my dreams.

The little life who started it all. The miracle who is the whole reason I sit here today sharing my journey after the miracle...

Thank you for allowing me to share my journey, my life, and the amazing God we serve with you each day. My heart is full this week. May you have a blessed Monday!

Memorize this verse today:

"God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."
