For God So Loved the World

Everyday, we share scripture, stories, or suggestions on how you can grow in your relationship with the Lord, how you grow in your understanding of yourself, how to improve your relationships with other people, how to find purpose, and how to find hope during your struggles. And, as we go through various scripture, you can see one recurring thread, no matter the topic. God loves you.

How much does God love you?

God loves you so much that He gave His only Son so that we would not perish. And, He gave His son to suffer for us to pay a debt that we created by disobeying Him in the first place. It is truly amazing if you think about it. We disobeyed God and in doing so, created our own punishment which was spending eternity in Hell. But God loved us so much that He wanted to save us from the punishment that we created for ourselves. And, He took that punishment on by dying on the cross for us and conquering death by rising on the 3rd day.

That’s how much God loves you. He died for you. Scan the religions of the world and you’ll find that in many other religions, you are required to show your allegiance by dying for your god. But in Christianity, your God shows His allegiance by dying for you. And, all you have to do is accept that love and that allegiance and eternal life with Him is yours.

As we learn more about the Lord, how to live according to His guidelines, and how to find hope to endure struggles, let us not ever forget the main message: God loves you so much that He wants to spend eternity with you. And, He died on the cross for you so that you could do just that. All you have to do today, is tell Him that you accept that gift and his sacrifice.

Memorize this verse today:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
~John 3:16
