My Father's World

Are there days where you feel like everything is going wrong? Days even where the wrong feels too strong to overcome? There is a classic hymn that gives us hope because it reminds us that God is in control. In fact, its verses remind us that He is the creator and the Lord of all. And, in verse three of this classic hymn, we are given hope that God is in control, even when things seem out of control and oh so wrong.

This classic hymn is This is My Father’s World and verse three of this hymn is:

This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

Does the wrong seem strong in your world? Is your heart sad? This hymn reminds us that God is the ruler and is in control and is in charge. Genesis 1:1 tells us that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God is the creator and ruler of everything. And, even when the wrong seems so strong, remind yourself that God is stronger and he has reigned since the beginning.

I know the wrong can seem very strong at times. But, take hope today in knowing that your God is stronger and that this is your Father’s world. He is the ruler. He reigns. And, you can rejoice in that.

Memorize this verse today:

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
~Genesis 1:1
