Defining Moment

Today is the one year anniversary of After the Miracle. When we started this webpage one year ago, our goal was to share our spiritual, personal, and relational journeys with you through devotions, blogs, and other stories. And, as our About Us page indicates, we named this site After the Miracle because this site tells of our growth after the miraculous birth of Isabella, daughter of one of the founders. Both founders were profoundly changed by Isabella’s birth and events that followed her birth. In fact, it was what we often times refer to as a defining moment.

Do you have a defining moment in your life?

Some of us do have those moments. It is a moment, or even season of life, that is so powerful that you are transformed due to it. It usually shakes us to our core and requires that we make some pretty serious changes in response to it. And, those changes that we make, and the decisions that we make while in the midst of such a situation, can lead to our complete transformation into something better. That is, if we make the right decisions while in those moments.

So, how do we know what the right decision is? The right decision is a God decision. It is a decision that is made based on constant communication with Him. The right decision is also consistent with God’s standards and leads us closer to Him. Defining moments require that we respond with the heart of the Lord and when we do, we will be transformed.

If you do not have a defining moment in your life, then I urge you to create one today. Defining moments usually involve radical change. Usually, they involve a radical change in your situation and your priorities. And, defining moments always involves a radical change in the way that you think.

Do you want a defining moment? Then you must be willing to radically change for the Lord. Ask the Lord today what areas of your life need a radical overhaul. And, be ready for the change that accompanies a defining moment.

Memorize this verse today:

"So that your faith would not rest in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."
~I Corinthians 2:5
