Verse of the Day

"Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: Do not be afraid Zechariah..."

Do Not Be Afraid

Have you ever noticed that when angels appear to people in the Bible, the angel often says to them, “Do not be afraid.??? Why is that? Why are people in the Bible always fearful in the presence of an angel with a message from God?

Are you afraid to be in the presence of God?

Oftentimes, people report that they are ashamed or embarrassed to come before God. Others often report that they don’t feel worthy to be in the presence of God. And still others are afraid to be in the presence of God because they think that God may ask them to do something that they don’t want to do.

Maybe you believe that He can’t possibly love you because of the things you have done in your life. And, you are afraid to be in God’s presence because of these sins.

Or perhaps, you are afraid to be His presence because you don’t feel worthy and you feel like you have let God down.

Or maybe you are afraid that if you come face to face with God that He will ask you to do something or go someplace that you don’t want to go.

Whatever the reason, I urge you, today, to not be afraid in God’s presence. You can come to Him and trust that He will love you and forgive you and if He does have a calling for your life that He will equip you for that call. Welcome Him today. Enter his presence. And, do not be afraid.

Memorize this verse today:

"Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: Do not be afraid Zechariah..."
~Luke 1: 11-13a
