He is My Confidence
Are you confident in every area of your life?
My answer to this question is a great big resounding NO!!!!!
I shared with you 2 weeks go that I am feeling called to a new area of ministry that will be a part of After the Miracle. This new area will be revealed shortly, but as I have been praying about it and thinking about how it will unfold, I am finding myself questioning God about if He really has called me to do this. Now deep down I know He has. My questioning is coming from the fact that I am feeling a lack of confidence in stepping out to do something I have never done before. I begin to ask myself questions like...what if it fails? What if no one is really interested in this new addition to After the Miracle?
Today these questions were running through my head and a comment that a dear friend made recently came to my mind, "Wendy, just do what God is calling you to do and you will begin to feel God confidence as you step out and do it." With those words ringing through my head, this verse came to me: "For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught" (Proverbs 3:26).
The Lord is my confidence. I tell women all the time that God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called. And, when we step out to do anything in self-confidence we will eventually fall flat on our faces because we have tried to do things in our own strength and in our own confidence. But, when we step out and do things in God confidence, then we know what we have accomplished has all been through Him. There is no doubt then that we can do all things through Him who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).
What do you feel God is asking you to step out and do?
Maybe it is not ministry related. It could be a new job, or perhaps doing something in your community to help others. Are you scared or do you feel you lack the confidence to do these new things? Ladies, I am learning that when I lack confidence I just need to call on Him and remember that He has called me to do great things for Him and he will be my confidence. And, it is the same for you. God has called you to do great things for Him. Just call on Him and ask Him to give you the confidence you need to do for Him.
